Tough Seasons

Good evening. I hope all of you are doing well by God’s grace. Tonight, I’ll like to share a video with you all. Please do take the time to watch it and if you can, take notes. Stay Blessed & Encouraged.

Devotional//Word For Today

“All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize.”
1Co 9:25 NLT

ARE YOU BEING STRETCHED?

When you’re being stretched spiritually, your faith in God grows. When you’re being stretched mentally, your old ideas are challenged and replaced with new ones. When you’re being stretched relationally, selfishness dies and love grows. So, are you being stretched right now? God allows us to have stretching experiences that prepare us for the race He has called us to run in life—and every so often your soul will “hit the wall.” No amount of strength and no amount of pressing will move the problem. This is soul stretch! Often, these moments aren’t the real test; they are just warm-ups that prepare us for future challenges. They are points of reference designed to keep us from panicking when we’re in the midst of the real race. Remember that God never allows a person to run for Him, or with Him, who hasn’t been stretched in their thinking, their faith, and their ability to live and love. So when you face a problem that just won’t move, remember to take a deep breath and remind yourself that God is stretching you. It’s the stretching of the soul that enables us to face situations we think will kill us, but don’t—to endure times when we think we won’t make it, but do. Sooner or later we will all face difficult times and relationships, but they are just the deep knee bends of life. So when it feels like you’re being stretched to breaking point, don’t quit. See it for what it is—preparation for running and winning your God-assigned race in life.

Verses:

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. –James 1:2-4

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. –Psalm 27:4

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. –James 1:12

Take time to pray for others. Who has the Lord placed on your heart for you to reach out to? Have you done so or are you making excuses? May the Lord bless you as you take heed to his obedience. Have a lovely night 🙂

Joy In The Lord

“That my joy may be in you.”
John 15:11 NIV

THE SECRET TO HAVING JOY (1)

for the joy of the Lord is your strength // nehemiah 8:10:

Jesus said, “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” The joy Jesus is talking about is unique: “My joy.” And it’s fulfilling in a way that the world’s happiness isn’t: “That your joy may be complete.” Being a faithful follower of Christ’s teachings brings inner joy that’s real and resilient regardless of economic indicators, interest rates, government deficits, and even disease or death. You can’t be happy without being joyful, but you can be joyful without being happy! How’s that possible? Jesus had previously told His disciples that we enjoy a love which transcends all others—the love of our heavenly Father that’s unconditionally offered, and once accepted, is permanently experienced. Nothing can compare to the love of God. His love isn’t based on looks, personality, wealth, or even moral goodness. It’s offered without any preconditions. And it’s neither fickle nor failing. You can’t do anything to make God love you more, and you can do nothing to make Him love you less. Furthermore, divine love doesn’t just give you “warm fuzzies.” It’s constantly at work to direct you toward making wise decisions, to protect you from making poor ones, and to correct you when you make bad ones. God’s love guarantees His acceptance when all others have rejected you, His forgiveness when all others have judged you, and His mercy when all others have condemned you. When you bask in His love, you experience a wellspring of joy bubbling up in your heart. And since the world didn’t give you this joy—the world can’t take it away.

Free Your Mind

Image

Learn to laugh at yourself more freely. Don’t take yourself or your circumstances so seriously. Relax and know that I am God with you. When you desire My will above all else, life becomes much less threatening. Stop trying to monitor My responsibilities –Things that are beyond your control. Find freedom by accepting the boundaries of your domain.

Laughter lightens your load and lifts your heart into heavenly places. Your laughter rises to heaven and blends with angelic melodies of praise. Just as parents delight in the laughter of their children, so I delight in hearing My children laugh. I rejoice when you trust Me enough to enjoy your life lightheartedly.

Do not miss the Joy of My Presence by carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. Rather, take My yoke upon you and learn from Me. My yoke is comfortable and pleasant; My burden is light and easily borne.

Proverbs 17:22
“A cheerful heart is good medicine,
but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.

Proverbs 31:25
“She is clothed with strength and dignity,
and she laughs without fear of the future.

Matthew 1:23
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! she will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’

Matthew 11:28-30
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”
Reflection:
I was really blessed by my devotion today. Powerful words. I hope you too are blessed. God bless you 🙂

My Heart’s Desire

Image

“Don’t you know me…?”
Jn 14:9 NIV

HOW WELL DO YOU KNOW JESUS?

A fascinating encounter took place between Jesus and Philip. When “Philip said, ‘Lord, show us the Father’…Jesus answered: ‘Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time?’” (vv. 8-9 NIV). There’s a lesson here for all of us. You can go to church regularly, serve on the board and sing in the choir, yet not really “know” the Lord. To truly know someone you must spend time with them, sharing and opening your heart. In other words, the relationship must become your top priority. The book you’re holding is called a “devotional” because its aim is to bring you to the place where you’re more devoted to Christ than anything else. Does that mean neglecting other things? No, it will actually enhance every other area of your life. The Bible says, “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel” (Ps 103:7 NKJV). Israel knew God’s acts because they were observers, whereas Moses knew His ways because he was intimate with Him. Israel saw what God did; Moses was close enough to understand His thinking and why He did what He did. Three times Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love Me?” (Jn 21:15 NKJV). The first two times Peter answered, “Yes.” The third time, frustrated by the question, he answered, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You” (v. 17 NKJV). Note the words, “Lord, You know.” You can fool others, and even yourself, but the Lord knows the quality of your love for Him. Today His desire is to draw you closer to Himself. Are you available?

Devotion:

WELCOME CHALLENGING TIMES as opportunities to trust Me. You have Me beside you and My Spirit within you, so no set of circumstances is too much for you to handle. When the path before you is dotted with difficulties, beware of measuring your strength against those challenges. That calculation is certain to riddle you with anxiety. Without Me, you wouldn’t make it past the first hurdle!  The way to walk through demanding days is to grip My hand tightly and stay in close communication with Me. Let your thoughts and spoken words be richly flavored with trust and thankfulness. Regardless of the day’s problems, I can keep you in perfect Peace as you stay close to Me.

James 1:2; Philippians 4:13; Isaiah 26:3

Divine Grace

Image

“My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
2Co 12:9 NKJV

TEMPTATION (3)

You ask, “How long will this temptation last?” Sometimes the Enemy’s attack is short-term, other times it is long-term. Paul had a “thorn” in his flesh, one that wouldn’t go away. Why did he have it? Pride! “Lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me” (v. 7 NKJV). Paul spoke five languages and wrote half the New Testament. With credentials like that it’s easy to become arrogant. Finally he stopped praying for an exit strategy and began to understand God’s purpose: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (v. 9 NKJV). Pride is one of the most neglected subjects in church today. Perhaps that’s due to the fact that we receive our teaching from people who struggle with it themselves. Pride doesn’t necessarily show on your face, but when you’re under pressure it surfaces in your actions and attitudes. Pride originated with Satan: “I will make myself like the Most High” (Isa 14:14 NIV). Often the core of atheism is pride; a person with no God, plays God. Satan used this strategy in Eden. “God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God” (Ge 3:5 NKJV). That’s why Paul told the Philippians, “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God…he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave…Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor” (Php 2:5-9 NLT). The key to overcoming temptation is submitting to God and living in daily dependence on Him.

I WANT TO BE CENTRAL in your entire being. When your focus is entirely on Me, My Peace displaces fears and worries. They will encircle you, seeking entrance, so you must stay alert. Let TRUST and thankfulness stand guard, turning back fear before it can gain a foothold. There is no fear in My Love, which shines on you continually. Sit quietly in My Love-Light, while I bless you with radiant Peace. Turn your whole being to TRUSTING and loving Me.

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
-2 Thessalonians 3:16

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
-1 John 4:18

Imperfect Vessel

Image

I am a mighty God. Nothing is too difficult for Me. I have chosen to use weak ones like you to accomplish My purposes. Your weakness is designed to open you up to My Power. Therefore, do not fear your limitations or measure the day’s demands against your strength. What I require of you is to stay connected to Me, living in trusting dependence on My limitless resources. When you face unexpected demands, there is no need to panic. Remember that I am with you. Talk with Me, and listen while I talk you through each challenging situation.

I am not a careless God. When I allow difficulties to come into your life, I equip you fully to handle them. Relax in My Presence, trusting in My Strength.

“For nothing is impossible with God.”
-Luke 1:37

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
-2 Corinthians 12:9

In my weakness, he makes me strong. Unrighteous & so unworthy of his love yet he basked me in his image for his glory. Imperfect Vessel, that’s what I am but by his grace & love I am perfect in his eyes. God uses our test and trials for a testimony but obedience is key. Is there anything too hard for God? He is able.

I Am Not Forgotten

Image

Paul Baloche: He Knows My Name

I have a maker
he formed my heart,
before even time began
My life was in his hands

He knows my name
He knows my every thought,
He sees each tear that falls
and hears me when I call

I have a father,
he calls me his own
He’ll never leave me,
no matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
and hears me when I call

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
and hears me when I call

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And hears me when I call
He hears me when I call

Sometimes, we feel so empty. It feels like no one understands. No one to confide in but God sees and he surely hears us. This song is so uplifting. It gives us an assurance that our names are not forgotten. Our names are written and stamped in God’s Kingdom. Despite, the circumstances of life, we are children of God. The promises of our God still remains the same. Times get tough but there is light after the tunnel. Jesus has cropped us from the shadows of darkness. We are made alive in him. In Christ, we live and have light. We are made whole. In our times of weakness, we find strength in God alone. May the Lord of hope, help us to trust him even in the midst of situations.

Devotion: March 23

I am a God of both intricate detail and overflowing abundance. When you entrust the details of your life to Me, you are surprised by how thoroughly I answer your petitions. I take pleasure in hearing your prayers, so feel free to bring Me all your requests. The more you pray, the more answers you can receive. Best of all, your faith is strengthened as you see how precisely I respond to your specific prayers.
Because I am infinite in all My ways, you need not fear that I will run out of resources. Abundance is at the very heart of who I AM. Come to Me in joyful expectation of receiving all you need and sometimes much more! I delight in showering blessings on My beloved children. Come to Me with open hands and heart, ready to receive all I have for you.

How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 They feast on the abundance of Your house;
You give them drink from Your river of delights.
9 For with You is the fountain of life;
in Your light we see light. ~Psalm 36:7-9

I will bless her with abundant provisions;
her poor I will satisfy with food. ~Psalm 132:15

When they had all had enough to eat, He said to His disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.”  So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten. ~John 6:12-13
