Outpouring Of His Love

Chepurnaya Svetlana

“Make yourselves at home in my love.”
John 15:9

“AT HOME” IN GOD’S LOVE

When someone says, “Make yourself at home,” it means you’re welcome and accepted. And that’s what Jesus means when He says, “Make yourselves at home in my love.” You never have been and never will be loved by anyone as much as God loves you. The reason you have such a hard time grasping that concept is that you have nothing to compare His love to. Nothing could make God love you more than He does right now, and nothing could make Him love you less. The great irony is that we spend our lives trying to earn His love, when it can only be received by faith. John says: “What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it—we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are. But that’s also why the world doesn’t recognize us or take us seriously, because it has no idea who he is or what he’s up to” (1Jn 3:1-2 TM). You may have grown up with parents who withheld their love, or weren’t capable of expressing it. God doesn’t do that. Throughout Scripture He keeps saying, “I love you. I love you. I love you!” C. S. Lewis wrote: “God created us to be the objects of His love! Sometimes our actions make us unlovely, but we’re never unloved. And because God loves us—we have value. And nobody can take that value away. God’s love revealed at Calvary fastens itself onto flawed creatures like us, and for reasons none of us can ever quite figure out, makes us precious and valued beyond calculation. This is love beyond reason. And this is the love with which God loves us.”

Prayer Challenge

Prayer Challenge

#ThePrayerProject. Challenge #2 is finally here. It’s just around the corner. If you were unable to participate in January, don’t worry. Feel free to join us this time around. This Prayer Project was started by @saunyaaa : Instagram. I participated in the January project and it was just amazing. There is a twist this time around. For the month of January we had to pray for someone we know. The theme for the month of March: Pray for someone you don’t know personally. So how do you participate..

1. Choose one individual that you don’t know personally & commit to writing one prayer for them for 30 days (without telling them). At the end of the challenge, you can choose to present this prayer journal to that individual as a gift: “a genuine act of love with no hidden agenda or intent to receive anything in return” -saunyaa.

2.Sign up at http://www.aloveperfect.com

3. Lastly, the challenge begins March 1. 2014. Get your journals and get ready.

You can do it. Be the change. Participate and even get your friends to join too. God bless you.

Lead Me In Your Way

Image

I am leading you, step by step, through your life. Hold My hand in trusting dependence, letting Me guide you through this day. Your future looks uncertain and feels flimsy- even precarious. That is how it should be. Secret things belong to the Lord, and future things are secret things. When you try to figure out the future, you are grasping at things that are Mine. This, like all forms of worry, is an act of rebellion: doubting My promises to care for you.

Whenever you find yourself worrying about the future, repent and return to Me. I will show you the next step forward, and the one after that, and the one after that. Relax and enjoy the journey in My Presence, trusting Me to open up the way before you as you go.

The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law. ~Deuteronomy 29:29

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.

~Psalm 32:8

This is my devotion. I can’t even stretch it enough on how this touched me. I had to share it. You never know who is going through a situation and just a little word can help them out. This is the story of my life. I worry about my future. I find myself wondering about school. I’m a college student and for those who can relate know that college can be stressful. Sometimes, I feel like I’m not going anywhere. I feel like i’m in a box trying to find my way out. The Bible constantly tells us not to worry but sometimes I find myself worrying a lot. I can be too extreme. I often wonder if I would ever complete college and where would I be without focusing on the present. As I read this devotional, I just thought to myself, what would happen if i didn’t stress about school and just take it one day at a time? After all, we live one day at a time not even aware of what our day will hold. We rise up from bed by the Grace of God. We go into the world unsure of the people we will encounter and even the situations that will come our way. It was an on time reminder to leave everything There is no power in our hands but when we fully place our day in our Maker’s hand, great things fall in place. Committing your day into God’s hands is very important. Many times, we rush into our day without saying a word of prayer. Just like how a simple word can change a person’s life or even how our day will operate is the same in praying. Intercede for others. Pray until something happens. God bless you.
