Leave It Up To Him

Image

When things don’t go as you would like, accept the situation immediately. If you indulge in feelings of regret, they can easily spill over the line into resentment. Remember that I am sovereign over your circumstances, and humble yourself under My mighty hand. Rejoice in what I am doing in your life, even though it is beyond your understanding.

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In Me you have everything you need, both for this life and for the life yet to come. Don’t let the impact of the world shatter your thinking or draw you away from focusing on Me. The ultimate challenge is to keep fixing your eyes on Me, no matter what is going on around you. When I am central in your thinking, you are able to view circumstances from My perspective.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. -1 Peter 5:6

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” -John 14:6

“If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging.”
Ro 12:8 NLT

Encouragement—It’s a Powerful Thing

Many a man and woman who quit would have kept going if they had just received a word of encouragement from someone. Encouragement is so vital that the Scriptures rank it up there with gifts like teaching and leadership (See Ro 12:6-8). Here are two stories that illustrate the power of encouragement. Story one: Not long ago the world watched as three gray whales, icebound off Point Barrow, Alaska, floated battered and bloody, gasping for breath at a hole in the ice. The whales’ only hope was to be somehow transported five miles past the ice pack to the open sea. Rescuers began cutting a string of breathing holes about twenty yards apart in the six-inch-thick ice. For eight days they painstakingly coaxed the whales from one hole to the next, mile after mile. Along the way one of the trio vanished and was presumed dead. But finally, with the help of Russian icebreakers, the other two whales, Putu and Siku, swam to freedom. Story two: Jackie Robinson was the first black player in the U.S. to play major league baseball. While breaking baseball’s color barrier, he faced jeering crowds in every stadium. Playing one day in his home stadium in Brooklyn, he made an error and his own fans began to boo him. As he stood, humiliated, at second base, “Pee Wee” Reese came over and stood next to him. He put his arm around Robinson and they faced the crowd together. The fans grew quiet; the game continued. Robinson later said that arm around his shoulder saved his career! Encouragement—it’s a powerful thing. So who can you encourage today?

His Promises Remain

Image

“He will reward each person according to what he has done.”
Mt 16:27 NIV

It’s Up to You

The Bible says, “For the Son of Man is going to come in His Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.” Let’s be clear: how you live now will determine what happens to you after you die. The choices you make each day don’t come to nothing when you pass away. They matter, and they’ll continue to matter throughout eternity. Your eternal destination is determined by what you believe, but your eternal reward is the result of how you behave. If you believe that and live accordingly, it will change how you think about life, how you think about God, indeed what you do one minute from now. God wants you to know that the positive consequences of your actions today can change your eternal prospects in astounding and wonderful ways, and He doesn’t want you to waste another minute. You don’t have to worry what awaits you on the other side of your last heartbeat. Others don’t decide that—you do! When the truth of this hits you, you’ll say, “I can’t believe I’ve prepared for my children’s future and my own retirement, but not given a thought to my real future!” One man put it like this: “I’ve always thought about finishing well. Now it turns out that death is just the starting gate.” The truth is that you can’t do anything about your past, but starting right now you can change your future—one choice, one day, one act at a time. It’s up to you.

                   Devotion:

Do not search for security in the world you inhabit. You tend to make mental checklists of things you need to do in order to gain control of your life. If only you could check everything off your list, you could relax and be at peace. But the more you work to accomplish that goal, the more things crop up on your list. The harder you try, the more frustrated you become.

There is a better way to find security in this life. Instead of scrutinizing your checklist, focus your attention on My Presence with you. This continual contact with Me will keep you in My Peace. Moreover, I will help you sort out what is important and what is not, what needs to be done now and what does not. Fix your eyes not on what is seen (your circumstances), but on what is unseen (My Presence).

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.
-Isaiah 26:3 nkjv

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
-2 Corinthians 4:18

Are You Ready?

Image

March 24th

THIS IS A TIME IN YOUR LIFE WHEN YOU MUST LEARN TO LET GO: of loved ones, of possessions, of control. In order to let go of something that is precious to you, you need to rest in My Presence, where you are complete. Take time to bask in the Light of My Love. As you relax more and more, your grasping hand gradually opens up, releasing your prized possession into My care.

You can feel secure, even in the midst of cataclysmic changes through awareness of My continual Presence. The one who never leaves you is the same one who never changes: I am the same yesterday, today, and forever. As you release more and more things into My care, remember that I never let go of your hand. Herein lies your security, which no one and no circumstance can take from you.

Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim You, who walk in the light of Your presence, Lord. ~Psalm 89:15

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever ~Hebrews 13:8

For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
~Isaiah 41:13

Are you ready? Ready to let go of yesterday’s pain and heartache. To release the burden and lay it down at the cross. Ask yourself. It’s quite a bittersweet moment. Bitter: You held on too long that the pain has taken a toll on your life. Sweet: There are better days ahead. Letting go is not easy. Forgiveness is key & it’s worth it. Forgiving those who have hurt you. Holding on just hurts. You need peace. We all need peace. Pray, Relax, Let it go. It’s not worth it.

Teach Me

Image

You are mine for all time- and beyond time, into eternity. No power can deny you your inheritance in heaven. I want you to realize how utterly secure you are! Even if you falter as you journey through life, I will never let go of your hand.

Knowing that your future is absolutely assured can free you to live abundantly today. I have prepared this day for you with the most tender concern and attention to detail. Instead of approaching the day as a blank page that you need to fill up, try living it in a responsive mode: being on the lookout for all that I am doing. This sounds easy, but it requires a deep level of trust, based on knowledge that My way is perfect.

The LORD makes firm the steps
   of the one who delights in Him;
though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the LORD upholds him with His hand.
~Psalm 37:23-24

As for God, His way is perfect:
   The LORD’s word is flawless;
He shields all who take refuge in Him.
~Psalm 18:30

“Lord, teach us to pray.”
Lk 11:1

Praying Jesus’ Way (1)

Overhearing Jesus pray moved one of His disciples to say, “Lord, teach us to pray.” It’s unlikely Jesus intended to teach them a rote prayer since He’d just said, “When you pray, don’t babble on and on as people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered merely by repeating their words again and again” (Mt 6:7 NLT). His answer was more than a sample formula-prayer. He was teaching them powerful, effective principles for praying. Let’s see how we can benefit from them. William Barkley said, “The Lord’s Prayer has two major parts: the first for God’s benefit, the second for ours. Honor the first part, and the second is guaranteed.” Part one begins with “Our Father.” It’s intended for His family, collectively as well as individually. He used the plural words “our…us…we” to indicate prayer is a cooperative exercise where we pray with and for each other, not just for and by ourselves. It also teaches us the power of agreeing together in prayer (See Mt 18:19). Before asking for anything we’re to acknowledge God’s fatherhood, because prayer is: (1) A matter of relationship. It’s the Father and His children in session; those who are redeemed through faith in the blood of His only begotten Son. That’s the welcome mat under your feet when you pray. It’s also: (2) A matter of submission. Jesus’ disciples understood that fatherhood meant headship and authority. Prayer isn’t an attempt to get God to agree with your will, it’s aligning yourself with His Word and will. He’s a promise-keeper, not an indulgent parent.

My Helper

My Helper

To be without a friend is to be poor indeed. – Tanzania

It’s Saturday. What a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I hope all is well with you all. Today be a blessing to someone. Live Life. Tomorrow is not guaranteed to no man. “Life comes with no guarantees, no time outs, no second chances. You just have to live life to the fullest. Tell someone what they mean to you and tell someone off, speak out, dance in the pouring rain, hold someone’s hand, comfort a friend, fall asleep watching the sun come up, stay up late, be a flirt, and smile until your face hurts. Don’t be afraid to take chances or fall in love and most of all, live in the moment because every second you spend angry or upset is a second of happiness you can never get back.”

We all need a helper in our lives. Someone who can listen to us and be there in our times of needs and vise versa. We can’t do it all alone. Good friends are hard to come by majority of the times. You never know who you will meet and that person can be your helper, your friend for a lifetime. Not everyone you meet is or should be classified as your friend. The term “friends” is used a lot in our generation. You must learn to differentiate. So be a helper. Give a helping hand to someone and be blessed. Give not to get something in return but from your heart. Someone needs you. Radiate your light.

Restless Soul

BeFunky_tumblr_mr662i0pnv1ru2xn4o1_250.jpg

You are feeling weighed down by a plethora of problems, both big and small. They seem to require more and more of your attention, but you must not give into those demands. When the difficulties in your life feel as if they’re closing in on you, break free by spending quality time with Me.You need to remember who I AM in all My Power and Glory. Then, humbly bring Me your prayers and petitions. Your problems will pale when you view them in the Light of My Presence. You can learn to be joyful in Me, your Savior, even in the midst of adverse circumstance. Rely on Me, your Strength; I make your feet like the feet of a deer, enabling you to go on the heights.

God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.  This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”~Exodus 3:14

Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.

19 The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
He enables me to tread on the heights.

For the director of music. On my stringed instruments.

~Habakkuk 3:17-19

This I Choose

This I Choose

“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.” –Elizabeth Gilbert.

Have you ever searched within yourself to really know what makes you happy? What does it truly mean to be happy? Everyone defines happiness based on their experiences and perspective of life. Happiness and content in life differs solely for all of us. What makes one person happy doesn’t necessarily bring desire and joy to another. Happiness is but a choice. There is no guarantee to have answers to all of lives’ questions but to accept the things that cannot be altered displays our strength and character. For some people happiness can be listening to music, that’s what brings joy to their souls. Being happy is being comfortable with who you are. Happiness cannot be earned. It is much of an experience of living a life of gratitude. Embracing your flaws, imperfection and being you, all that you can ever be is my definition of happiness. Day by day, I learn. No one is responsible for my joy. I need peace of mind and happiness starts from inside. Loving yourself, encouraging yourself. Despite the challenges of life, being your own cheerleader and striving to be the best is key. Personally, this journey of being happy is not always easy. We are human beings and we have emotions. Don’t get me wrong, I truly admire people who are always happy and try to be positive. It’s amazing to me. I can only speak for myself. I’m not a miserable person but I’m not always happy. Sometimes, i base my happiness on the circumstance that I’m facing. Worrying about my future and what it holds. Sadly that’s my life. Sometimes, when I’m all alone, thoughts scatter in my head. Why can’t I can be happy? It’s not easy. When people always tell you to just be happy but just don’t realize it’s so much easier said than done, it can get even more harder on you. I choose to be happy. Happiness feels good and it’s surely good for your soul. So choose being happy over everything. Someone is watching you. Let no one be responsible for your joy. I don’t owe anyone anything but I owe myself a piece of mind. Choose wisely.. Your worth everything that’s good. Nothing less only greatness.
