IF YOU PERSIST YOU’LL WIN

Before you quit and walk away, read the story of how Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem in just fifty-two days: First, he sought God’s help. “We prayed to our God” (Ne 4:9 NIV). Second, he protected his vision. “We…posted a guard day and night to meet this threat” (v. 9 NIV). Third, he refused to quit. “Should a man like me run away?…I will not” (Ne 6:11 NIV). Gandhi said, “You may never know what results come from your action, but if you do nothing there will be no results.” In spite of the obstacles, the enemy, and the pressure—Nehemiah refused to give up. And God honors people with such a spirit. Paul said, “Even when we don’t know what to do, we never give up. In times of trouble, God is with us” (2Co 4:8-9 CEV). Thomas Edison gave the world electric light, microphones, storage batteries, sound films, phonographs, and a thousand other inventions. Here are the principles he lived by: (1) Work to obtain all the knowledge you can about what you want to achieve. (2) Fix your mind on your purpose. Persist! Seek! The trouble with most people is they quit before they start. (3) Keep searching, no matter how many times you meet with disappointment. (4) Refuse to be influenced by the fact that someone else tried the same thing and failed. (5) Stay “sold” on the idea that somewhere a solution to the problem exists, and you’ll find it.

Crowned With Glory

July Roses

The month of July: Rest, Refreshing, Overflow of Joy, Holiness, Completion, Peace.

Happy New Month of July. Yet another day and month, God has crowned us with for His Glory. The months of toiling is over. It’s time to rest in God. The days of trying to handle everything by your own power is over. Rest in the presence of God. You see, after God finished the work He was doing, He rested on the seventh day and made it Holy. The enemy will try to distract you but know that God has finished the work. Completion is found in Christ. Don’t wrestle. Rest in God your Savior. Continue to trust in Him and lean not on your own understanding because what He has promised will surely come to pass. Let the streams of living water refresh you in this month of July. In Isaiah 49:10, we are reminded that “He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.” This is a month of Joy. Don’t allow the enemy to steal your joy or anyone he sends to paralyze you. Praise God even when you don’t see your miracle. Rejoice in knowing God. You can call on His name. He listens and cares for you. The past months may have been difficult but God is bringing you to a place of rest. My cup will overflow. Oil of gladness. It has already begun and so shall it be for you. When we take a look at Genesis 8, we see that Noah opened a window he made in the ark and sent out a raven. Then follows a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. The dove could find no where to perch because there was water over all the surface of the Earth. Noah waited seven days to send the dove out again. Evening came, and the dove returned with a freshly plucked olive leaf. We are reminded that there Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. Dove is a representation of peace and Holy Spirit in the Bible. Olive leaf has a great symbolic value. In Psalm 52:8, we are compared to a olive tree. “But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God;I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.” Beautiful, unwavering, graceful, extensive in it’s root, producing rich oil. That’s an olive tree. That’s what God sees of us. May this month of July be a fruitful month for you. Joyful Celebration.

*Genesis 8:1-14 : But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens had been closed, and the rain had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.

6 After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark 7 and sent out a raven, and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth. 8 Then he sent out a dove to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth. 12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.

13 By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year, the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. 14 By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.

*Genesis 2: Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.

*Deuteronomy 28: 1-7: If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.

5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.

6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.

7 The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.”

Let your joy overflow. May the peace of God reign in your life. Remain in the secret place. May you be a blessing unto those you encounter in the month of July. Until next time, stay blessed and rooted in Christ. God loves you.

There Is Joy In His Presence

Joy Of The Lord

Question of the day: Have you experienced the Joy of the Lord?
Joy is one of the fruit of the Spirit which is found in Galatians 5:22. Experiencing the joy of the Lord is not limited to the believers in the Bible. We are disciples, followers but first and foremost Children of God. As every mother will want to see their children happy, Christ desires for us to be filled with joy and gladness. There’s a difference between joy and happiness. Joy is internal, eternal, unshakeable , supernatural experience. Happiness is external. It is fickle. It based on conditions. If my man buys me that car, I’m happy. If he doesn’t, my day is ruined. If I get an A on my exam, I will be happy but if I get lesser than that, then I’m just going to sleep and talk to no one. When you have experienced the joy of the Lord, trials will come but you won’t allow it to dictate how your day will go. It won’t stop you from praising God. You release your cares and your burdens unto God. Having the joy of the Lord doesn’t mean you won’t cry or be frustrated at times. You are human. Jesus even wept. Having the joy of the Lord gives you a new found perspective on life.
In James 1:2, we are reminded that we should “Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” Trials will come but God is Greater than any circumstance that will come your way. You must seek Him. Don’t put God in a box. Seek His face at all times. Having the joy of the Lord is seen as fake to the world. Many will never comprehend how one can be facing a difficult trial in their lives but yet still they are living, praising and pursuing God. We are expected to be sad, and dwell on the situation for a long period of time. As you grow in your walk with God, you will look back on certain things and wonder why you stressed so much on that situation. It won’t bother you because you have a better understanding of things. You will learn the importance of putting your dependence on God and not on human beings like you. No one is perfect. Personally, a lesson I learned while back in college was leaning on God. I remember my first year in college, I was feeling really down and I called three of my friends at the time. No one responded but not that alone, they never got back to me. I had to call them a week after to see if they received my phone call. Sometimes, people say they are busy. The response that I received was as follows “I saw your call but I was busy and forgot to call you back”. Yes, things happen but I mean none of my friends called me back. It was really hard for me because I’m the one that’s either reaching out to my friends. Some of them are not texting/calling people as they say but this was a lesson I learned. I learned to cast my care to God. God must be my priority in every situation. He is not my last resort. For many of you, you are still learning this lesson. You find yourself calling someone every time you are faced with an issue. God is calling you to himself. He wants you to experience his presence in the midst of your trial. Your friends won’t always be there for you. They are humans with their own set of trials. When you learn to make God you focal point, you rest on his promises of never leaving you nor forsaking you. God is always at work in our lives whether you see it or not. He desires for all his children to experience joy in His presence. My prayer is that you will experience the joy of the Lord. He is waiting to fill his children up to the brim. He is the God who makes all things new. Ask the Lord to fill your heart/life with joy. I know He will.

Happy New Month. We thank God for allowing us to see a new day/month. God has been faithful. If not God, then who? As we embark into this new month, I pray that the love of God will overflow in your life and those around you. May the peace of God which transcends all understanding rest upon every storm in your life. May joy come every morning amidst the trials you are facing. May you call upon the name of the Lord at all times. May you go deeper in your walk with God. May God carry us through every single day and we continue to remain in his presence at all times. UNDERSTANDING GOD’S WILL (Part #3)

About 75 percent of believers now live in Third World countries, often in anti-Christian environments. Xu Yonghai is one of them. He worked to see the legalization of house churches in China. The government responded by locking him up for two years in an eight-by-eight-foot cell in a Beijing prison. There was no bathroom, only a pipe in a corner from which water flowed onto the concrete. “My cell was the last stop for prisoners sentenced to die,” he said. “At times there were as many as three other prisoners in the tiny damp room, awaiting their date with the executioner.” Yonghai survived through prayer, meditation, and writing. Using a bar of soap to write on the walls of his cell, he outlined the major points of a book about God. When he was finished, he committed the thoughts to memory, and upon his release he turned his prison notes into a fifty-thousand-word book entitled God the Creator. More often than not, your difficulties and hardships confirm you’re in the will of God rather than out of it! Paul writes: “I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace” (vv. 23-24 NIV). Note the word grace. No matter how difficult the will of God may be, you can accomplish it by drawing each day on His limitless supply of grace.
