Happy New Month Everyone. What a great joy it is to be able to see a new day rather yet a new month. I hope your’e all doing well. God has been good. I’m trusting that this month will be a refreshing one filled with God’s grace, love, peace and his bountiful blessings to you and your family/loved ones. It was just yesterday that we started a new year and already we are half way towards another chapter. I personally don’t know how your year is coming along by far but I want to remind you of what God’s word says. I came across this Bible verse on a sudden day back in May while studying the word. Lord knows it was for a purpose why I came across this verse. The interesting thing is that I had a dot by this verse but on this day my eyes was set on this verse for a while. The Bible verse is Psalm 77: 11-14

I will remember the deeds of the Lord;
yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
12 I will consider all your works
and meditate on all your mighty deeds.”

13 Your ways, God, are holy.
What god is as great as our God?
14 You are the God who performs miracles;
you display your power among the peoples.

Many times, when we are faced with lives trials, we tend to forget about the God we serve. We fix our eyes on our circumstances and turn our gaze away from the Cross. We run away from his presence where he sacrificed himself for us. I came across this Bible verse two days after I graduated from college. For me, I saw it as a reminder to not forget how far God has brought me. A young woman (Sasha) once said this to me “Sometimes, God will take you around in circles not to take you in a loop but to remind you where you came from.” In all things, we must learn to give thanks to God. Just as the stream flows but never forgets its source, may we never forget all that God has done for us despite the trials we will face in this life. If it means, getting a journal to document the day and date of what took place in your life, write it down. Write down your prayer requests and give thanks to God before and after you receive the good news. Despite the trials you will face in this month or the days ahead, know that God is present in every season of your life. As you spend time in his presence, in prayer, speak his words over your life/circumstance.

Prayer:

Lord I come before you today as I am. I lay everything before you. I thank you for this day and what it holds. Though I do not know what lies ahead of me, I know that you go before me and behind me. According to your word in 1 Peter 5:7, you alone tell us that we should cast our anxiety on you because you care. So Lord, I am laying everything at your altar. This day is yours. Order my steps. I surrender all that I am to you. Have your way in me. Let your will be done. In Jesus name, Amen.

Challenge:

  • Take time to reach out to your friends. Ask them for their requests. If you can pray for them while on the phone or alongside side with them, do so. If they refuse, you can pray for them. It breaks my heart when someone I know is hurting but no one is aware because they don’t know who to confide in. I understand that we are busy and we have our problems but if someone is your friend, you’ll take the time to reach out to them.
  • Spend more time in the Secret Place. More time in God’s presence. With so many of life’s demands, sometimes, we can get entangled in the world’s expectation of us that we don’t even make time to be in the secret place.
  • Random Act Of Kindness. Do something for someone. As we know it is a blessing to give. So give. Whether it is your time, a gift or whatever is laid upon your heart, do so with love.
  • Be careful of what you feed your spirit. Take time to re-evaluate the people you surround yourself with, the music you listen to and also the movies/shows you watch.
  • Take time for yourself. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

Cheers to what this month and what it has in stored for us. I absolutely love the month of July. Though I don’t always like the heat, I love the feel this month always brings. Until next time, live, love, laugh, smile and continue being you. God bless you all. Have a lovely fun-filled month. Let your light shine 🙂

Song of the day:

Words Of Encouragement

Featured image

“Find the things that stir your affections for Christ and saturate your life in them. Find the things that rob you of that affection and walk away from them.” -Matt Chandler

“Go to Jesus, whatever it is that is on your heart, take it to the one who knows your heart. Let Him be the constant in this world of inconsistencies; let Christ be the rock that you build your life on, because He is the only foundation that will stand in the season of pain. He is all that we need, so return to Him, and be restored.” -T.B. LaBerge

To be known is to be loved. To be loved is to be known.”

I produce failure, God produces faithfulness. I produce disgrace, God produces grace. I produce pain, God took on my pain. I cannot hope to do anything good on my own, only by the guidance of Christ can I ever achieve holiness; and still I do not have to do anything but reach for it, because God’s grace comes down to us, meets us where we are and takes us to a better place. I am so thankful for a God who we not only need, but who loves us in the process of our need.” -T.B. LaBerge

“If God created anything more beautiful than a woman, he kept it for himself.” -aazhxra

Acquire the habit of speaking to God as if you were alone with God. Speak with familiarity and confidence as to your dearest and most loving friend. Speak of your life, your plans, your troubles, your joys, your fears. In return, God will speak to you—not that you will hear audible words in your ears, but words that you will clearly understand in your heart.” -St. Alphonsus Liguori

“I find that my walk with God is most stagnate when I’m no longer trembling before God’s Word, but rather yawning as I stare at the words on the pages because I’ve grown self-absorbed, bored with God as I’m too familiar with him and focused on “my kingdom come” instead of “Thy Kingdom come.” -Alex Early

“A good man leaves an inheritance.”
Pr 13:22 NIV

What Will You Leave Behind?

Paul probably didn’t leave any money or real estate when he died, but he did leave a legacy—a superior one! His legacy was his writings, those he won to Christ, those he mentored, and his enduring influence. Every day your life touches other lives in unseen ways. You don’t have to know someone personally in order to experience the blessing of their legacy. Like walking into an empty room and catching a whiff of someone’s perfume, your impact can continue to be felt long after you’re gone. Usually we associate legacies with dying, and we don’t particularly like the topic. Or we assume since our legacy won’t be revealed for years, we don’t need to start investing in it now. In some cases we feel like we’ve little or no control over what we leave behind anyway. Not so: “A good man leaves an inheritance.” What will yours be? More importantly, what’s it going to cost you? Since the best gifts aren’t always handed down in your will, why not try for something more meaningful—something that points to who you were? It’s one thing to measure success by the money in your bank account, the size of your real estate holdings, and the value of your stock portfolio. It’s entirely another to measure it by intangibles like being a faithful marriage partner, raising great kids, building God’s kingdom, and leaving your light burning brightly when you go. All great legacies come with a price tag. To move beyond mediocrity, you must invest every day in the accounts of those who follow you!

YOU ARE ON THE PATH of My choosing. There is no randomness about your life. Here and Now comprise the coordinates of your daily life. Most people let their moments slip through their fingers, half-lived. They avoid the present by worrying about the future or longing for a better time and place. They forget that they are creatures who are subject to the limitations of time and space. They forget their Creator, who walks with them only in the present.

Every moment is alive with My glorious Presence, to those whose hearts are intimately connected with Mine. As you give yourself more and more to a life of constant communion with Me, you will find that you simply have no time for worry. Thus, you are freed to let My Spirit direct your steps, enabling you to walk along the path of Peace .

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. ~Philippians 4:6

You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in You. ~Isaiah 26:3

Reflection:

Happy New Month to you all. It’s May already. God has been good. I was blessed by this word from my devotion today, so i wanted to share it. I hope you too are blessed. There is no randomness in our lives. God has fixed the puzzles in our lives. It’s not in our hands to figure our what the future holds for us because God has it planned. The scripture reminds us that in Luke 12: 25-26 “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” Sadly, I can relate because as much as I don’t want to worry, I constantly find myself worrying. My mind is always on think mode. If I choose this, where would it lead me? Consistent thoughts of the future prevents us from actually living and enjoying the present. Blessings, favor & more goodness in this new month. May God help us all in our endeavors and in all things. Stay blessed. 🙂

Captivated By His Love

Image

In Me you have everything. In Me you are complete. Your capacity to experience Me is increasing, through My removal of debris and clutter from your heart. As your yearning for Me increases, other desires are gradually lessening. Since I am infinite and abundantly accessible to you, desiring Me above all else is the best way to live.

It is impossible for you to have a need that I cannot meet. After all, I created you and everything that is.The world is still at My beck and call, though it often appears otherwise. Do not be fooled by appearances.Things that are visible are brief and fleeting, while things that are invisible are everlasting.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, ~Ephesians 3:20

Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting. ~2 Corinthians 4:18 (AMP)

“In all things at all times, having all that you need.”
2Co 9:8 NIV

What Has God Said About You?

When God tells you to give of your finances in order to fulfill someone else’s vision, you must realize: (1) He’s testing your faith and your willingness to obey in difficult circumstances. When Elijah the prophet asked a widow to share her last meal with him, the timing seemed strange. There was a famine in the land and people were dying. Who would have blamed her for saying no? But by putting God’s interests before her own, she connected herself to a divine, unending source of supply. The Bible says: “Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously…God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” (vv. 6-8 NIV). (2) He’s giving you an opportunity to sow into another’s life and reap in your own. We love to quote, “My God will meet all your needs” (Php 4:19 NIV), but do you remember who this promise was made to? It was written to those who supported Paul’s ministry. “When I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid again and again when I was in need” (vv. 15-16 NIV). Then Paul added these words: “My God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” When you give, you invest in an account you can draw on when you have a need yourself.

Reflect On Your Life

Image

“Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love.”
Ecc 9:9 NIV

Instrument Rated (8)

Instrument rated for marriage. Today Christian marriages are falling apart at the same rate as non-Christian marriages. And those who go through it need our love, not our condemnation. But clearly, something’s wrong that needs to be put right! Two of the leading causes of divorce are financial stress and pornography. When you become overextended by purchasing things you can’t afford and don’t need, you’re headed into trouble. And when you open your mind to sexual fantasy, you entertain images your mate can’t live up to, and your relationship begins to deteriorate. Solomon writes, “Catch us the foxes, the little foxes that spoil the vines, for our vines have tender grapes” (SS 2:15 NKJV). Notice the word “tender.” When we fail to treat one another tenderly, graciously, lovingly, considerately, and with respect, the plane we’re flying in together takes a nosedive. A neglected partner is vulnerable to anyone who comes along. Resentment wells up and takes over. If God’s Word doesn’t work in your home and in your marriage, then it won’t work anywhere else! An instrument-rated Christian understands that the secret of having a good marriage is not just in finding the right person—but in becoming the right person. And that can only happen when you make a daily commitment to living by the principles of God’s Word and demonstrating the fruits of the Spirit (See Gal 5:22). The story is told of one spouse who said to the other, “I never knew what real happiness was until I married you—now it’s too late.” Unless you want that to be your story, start tending the home fires.

Devotion:

Rest in My Presence, allowing Me to take charge of this day. Do not bolt into the day like a racehorse suddenly released. Instead, walk purposefully with Me, letting Me direct your course one step at a time. Thank Me for each blessing along the way; this brings Joy to both you and Me. A grateful heart protects you from negative thinking. Thankfulness enables you to see the abundance I shower upon you daily. Your prayers and petitions are winged into heaven’s throne room when they are permeated with thanksgiving. In everything give thanks, for this is My will for you.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. -Colossians 4:2

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. -1 Thessalonians 5:18

Be Blessed

Church was so amazing. First Sunday of the year and there’s no place I would have rather been but in the presence of the Lord. The message for church was titled “Blocking the blessing blockers”. The Bible reading was taking from the book of Galatians 3:1-14. My pastor talked about how God’s plan for mankind has always included blessings. Then there was this quote that my pastor shared that was so powerful. It goes like this. “God’s blessings is an invisible and intangible essence placed upon a person that despite any circumstance will cause the material physical world to respond to the blessed individual in a favorable fashion”. This was just amazing. The further discussion was about how curse is the opposite of blessing. Sin reverted the blessing and brought the curse. Blessing is restored. The blessing in the heavenly realm must be pulled down to the earthly realm: Prayer, faith and right thinking is what is required. The prayer of faith is what will heal the sick as it is mentioned in the Bible. There are three levels of blessings as I learned today. Imputed blessing is one of them which is the blessing through redemption, the basis of all blessing. The second blessing is known as the imparted blessing which is blessing by association or pronouncement. The last blessing is known as Blessing by Obedience. This blessing is associated with an act of obedience. Sin is the greatest blocker of blessing. The most potent blessing blocker is willful sin. As my pastor stated today, “You cannot go on willfully sinning and expect blessings to flow. Sin puts limitation on what God can do in our lives. In this time and age, we treat sin as a casualty. May the Lord us to follow his precepts and what we know has been taught as good to bring glory to his kingdom. Lord whatever your doing in this season please don’t do it without me. Don’t do it without me. Lord if your healing, healing in this season please don’t do it without me. Lord if your blessing, blessing in this season please don’t do it without me. Jesus loves you.

Humble Beginnings

Happy New Year’s Everyone. I made it to see 2014 and I’m so grateful. I started my New Year’s off by going to church to praise my God. It was an amazing time in the presence of God. Testimonies after testimonies. Worship/Message was powerful. God is great and worthy to be praised. This is my year of Overflow. Great things my God has done and Greater things he is yet to do. So the New Year is here. What are your New Year’s Resolution.? A lot of people don’t like making New Year’s Resolution. Some people think it a cliche and others feel like there is no point in writing down agenda’s to live by on a day to day basis. So they just go with the flow. It is very important to analyze and make some changes in your life. Change is good. New Beginning & a new start. It is good for your soul. Reflection also plays a huge role in the changes you have to make. Being Realistic will help one focus on their Resolutions. I personally make Resolutions but half way through the year, I find myself stumbling and not even remembering these points. For this year though, I want to make changes. Start something new and fresh. So here are my Resolutions.

Image

1) To grow more in Christ

2) To be a happy person

3) Try hard not to stress about matters

4) Be more confident in what I pray for

5) Increase in my intake of water

6) Love myself & not to be so hard on myself

7) Drink at least 5 bottles of water a day

8) Not to fixate my mind on others blessings but to realize that I too am blessed.

9) Be the best that I can be

10) To love people more & be of help in any way that I can.

So what are your dreams, goals & aspirations. SHARE IT.
