Leave It Up To Him

Image

When things don’t go as you would like, accept the situation immediately. If you indulge in feelings of regret, they can easily spill over the line into resentment. Remember that I am sovereign over your circumstances, and humble yourself under My mighty hand. Rejoice in what I am doing in your life, even though it is beyond your understanding.

I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. In Me you have everything you need, both for this life and for the life yet to come. Don’t let the impact of the world shatter your thinking or draw you away from focusing on Me. The ultimate challenge is to keep fixing your eyes on Me, no matter what is going on around you. When I am central in your thinking, you are able to view circumstances from My perspective.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. -1 Peter 5:6

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” -John 14:6

“If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging.”
Ro 12:8 NLT

Encouragement—It’s a Powerful Thing

Many a man and woman who quit would have kept going if they had just received a word of encouragement from someone. Encouragement is so vital that the Scriptures rank it up there with gifts like teaching and leadership (See Ro 12:6-8). Here are two stories that illustrate the power of encouragement. Story one: Not long ago the world watched as three gray whales, icebound off Point Barrow, Alaska, floated battered and bloody, gasping for breath at a hole in the ice. The whales’ only hope was to be somehow transported five miles past the ice pack to the open sea. Rescuers began cutting a string of breathing holes about twenty yards apart in the six-inch-thick ice. For eight days they painstakingly coaxed the whales from one hole to the next, mile after mile. Along the way one of the trio vanished and was presumed dead. But finally, with the help of Russian icebreakers, the other two whales, Putu and Siku, swam to freedom. Story two: Jackie Robinson was the first black player in the U.S. to play major league baseball. While breaking baseball’s color barrier, he faced jeering crowds in every stadium. Playing one day in his home stadium in Brooklyn, he made an error and his own fans began to boo him. As he stood, humiliated, at second base, “Pee Wee” Reese came over and stood next to him. He put his arm around Robinson and they faced the crowd together. The fans grew quiet; the game continued. Robinson later said that arm around his shoulder saved his career! Encouragement—it’s a powerful thing. So who can you encourage today?

What Really Matters

Seek My Face more and more. You are really just beginning your journey of intimacy with Me. It is not an easy road, but it is a delightful and privileged way: a treasure hunt. I am the Treasure, and the Glory of My Presence glistens and shimmers along the way. Hardships are part of the journey too. I mete them out ever so carefully, just in the right dosage, with a tenderness you can hardly imagine. Do not recoil from afflictions, since they are among My most favored gifts. Trust Me and don’t be afraid, for I am your Strength and Song.

My heart says of you, Seek his face! Your face, Lord, I will seek. -Psalm 27:8

But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. -2 Corinthians 4:7

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. -Isaiah 12:2

What really matters, is for us to know God & the power of his resurrection. His love so pure, mercy, and that of his grace. What really matters is to seek his face and to spread his word, that many people will come to know him. What really matters is our relationship with Christ. Nothing else matters. Friends may come and go, family also go but God remains the same. As written in Hebrews 13:8, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. What really matters is God. May the Lord help us all to know what really matters.
